Can you ever overclean?

Home

Cleaning is a national obsession. Although we moan a lot about it, we still stick to our weekly cleaning schedules. We insist on having surfaces so sparkling you can eat off them! You may not have known that it is possible to clean your house too much.

  1. Wooden Furniture

Cleaning wood furniture too much can make it dirty! Over time, if you use a wax based product on your wood furniture, it can cause an oily buildup that will attract more dirt and dust. You shouldn’t treat your wood furniture any more than twice per month. For those cleaning jobs that need to be done in between times, you can use a dry rag.

  1. Dishes

You might be surprised that pre-soaking your dishes won’t speed up the process. Save yourself the trouble and put everything in the dishwasher instead! For a Fully Integrated Dishwasher Erith, visit www.wellingtonshomeelectrical.co.uk/dishwashers/fullsize-dishwashers/fully-integrated.html

  1. Pots and Pans

It seems right to let your iron pans soak in soapy hot water when you have food stuck to them and bits that are difficult to remove. Over time, dishwashing detergent will remove the seasonings from your pans. Instead of using dishwashing soap to remove stains, you can use salt for a better-tasting meal. It won’t take away the good stuff.

  1. Hands

Everyone knows that washing your hands is important at certain times. We all know that we should wash our hands after using the toilet, after handling raw food and before cooking. Although this is still important, washing our hands too often can kill off the good bacteria that boost our immune system. Anti-bacterial hand sanitisers and over-washing can cause antibiotic-resistant bacteria in our body.
